Fun at Handmade Toledo: Workshop Highlights

The Living Wreath Workshop at Handmade Toledo last Saturday was a blast! I had 14 amazing people join me for the class, which is my biggest class size to date. Handmade Toledo is both a store and event space. It's one of those places that immediately puts you in a good mood when you walk through the doors.
I was a little concerned about a new setup strategy I wanted to try. I am in the process of figuring out the best way to create a family-style layout for the decorating materials and had not quite decided on the approach. But once I got there, I felt that I could relax and just have a good time.

As people started arriving, I was able to have some really nice chats. Every workshop is different because of the personalities in the group. I loved hearing about people’s plant collections and their most recent creative projects. The workshop had so much good energy, plus someone brought their dog, which was a big highlight. Oh, and I also had my first-ever male participant. Workshops do make great date activities!

Everyone had such unique ideas for how to use the materials, and I saw some design techniques I haven’t seen before with the grapevine heart decor. The materials worked out great family-style, and that mostly had to do with the friendly, interactive nature of the group. I enjoyed everyone so much that by the end, I was a little sad it was over.
If you haven’t checked out the Handmade Toledo store or event space, I highly recommend it. There are all kinds of amazing products from local crafters and makers in the area, which is really special to support.

I look forward to being back at Handmade Toledo again on April 18 for a spring wreath workshop with white butterflies. Be sure to check the events calendar for tickets soon!
