Inside the First Living Wreath Workshop: An Evening of Creativity and Connection

The Living Wreath Workshop held its first official event on January 30th. A wine club booked a private party ahead of my first scheduled public workshop, and starting in a more intimate setting felt like the perfect way to introduce this new boutique service.

The ladies were warm and welcoming from the moment we began. They dove into their kits, and we spent the evening playing, arranging, and talking about air plants. My favorite part was watching how each person used the same materials in completely different ways. The creativity in the room was abundant, and the energy was wonderful.

There is always at least one person who approaches a project like this by saying, “I am not creative.” One woman in particular sat down and told us she was not artistic at all. Then I watched her grow curious as she experimented with moss placement and air plants. She began asking questions and exploring new ideas, and by the end of the workshop she had created a truly beautiful arrangement. It was a gift to witness her reconnect with that investigative, playful part of herself.

Those moments are what these workshops are really about. As adults, we rarely give ourselves permission to play. We may go out to be entertained, but allowing space for creative expression is often overlooked. This kind of engagement is not only beneficial for our brains, but also deeply supportive of our emotional well being.

At first glance, these workshops may appear to be centered on air plant education. In reality, they are designed to encourage curiosity and creativity within a guided environment where participants can feel comfortable and confident trying something new.

Creative enrichment helps us see the world with fresh perspective. It keeps us engaged, energized, and open. As we get older, routines often take over and our days become filled with work, family schedules, and responsibilities. I see the Living Wreath Workshop as an opportunity to step away from that rhythm and spend a few hours doing something restorative, relaxing, and beautiful. It is a small escape, a kind of micro vacation for the nervous system and the mind.

Hosting this first workshop allowed me to witness the beauty that comes from creating together. The conversations, the laughter, and the sense of community are the true purpose. The air plant wreath is simply a memento. My hope is that each person who attended remembers the joy of the evening and carries that feeling with them long after. It is an experience I will certainly never forget.

If you are interested in booking a Living Wreath Workshop for a bachelorette party, baby shower, or team building event, booking is available through the website. I would love to help make your special occasion feel thoughtful, creative, and memorable. Book now.

Stay botanically inspired,
Brooklyn

What a fun and personally enriching experience. Recognizing a broader need for personal growth then nailing it in execution is chef’s kiss!

The story is as inspiring as I imagined how it might have been to participate. Well done.
