Living Wreath Workshops for 2026

The start of a new year always makes me feel like there are unlimited possibilities. It's a clean slate to create the dreams that live inside of me. My energy is fresh, eager, and ready to plan and build more of what excites me.

2025 was the biggest year for Terra Cotta Plant Boutique to date. I participated in a record number of weekly markets and festivals, gained a lot of traction on the social media platforms, and had the most online sales the website has ever seen. It seemed like business couldn't get any better!

But it has.

Even though 2025 was a very busy year for me, I always had a workshop on my heart and mind. With my teaching background, excellent organizational skills, and genuine love for creating beautiful activities and spaces for people to come together to enjoy, it seemed like a very natural next step for me.

I spent months considering my options. Do I create activities for children? Should I focus on outdoor gardening? Where could I host classes? The questions just kept coming, but the answers did not. Until the day after Christmas!

It sounds crazy, but inspiration hit me like a lightning bolt as I sat on my couch feeling very discouraged about the previous workshop idea I couldn't make happen. The material cost was WAY too high. The activity would be much too intense for the allotted time frame. I had been crunching numbers all day and couldn't make it make sense.

I admit that I started out of the gate with an arrangement that involved orchids, air plants, and succulents. Lovely, but with very high cost of goods. Curiosity got the best of me and I took everything out except for the air plants. I plugged in the numbers again and it made more sense. That is when the flood gates opened for me, and I started reworking the whole class around the plant that was already my best selling market item.

I stayed up late, mapped out the entire workshop, and the very next morning I emailed every event space I knew about booking dates.

By the end of the day I had booked my first workshop. A day after, I got interest for a second date. By day three, another event space reached out.

I laugh as I write this because it sounds absolutely insane. The repetitive cycle of trying, failing, and trying again all year finally broke. Yes, I cried tears of joy. Relief, victory, gratitude, and maybe a little bit of "what did I just get myself into" washed over me.

So, while most people focused on enjoying the holiday break, I designed workshop materials, ordered inventory, and created the organizational and operational systems to support the new service. I'm glad chatGPT is a machine, because if it were a real person, it would have not only quit on me, but probably cussed me out a little. We did it, though!

A week ago I had a wish. Today, I have a workshop.

Folks, I am honored to share with you the Living Wreath Workshop: Air Plants. This class will focus on comprehensive air plant care while making a fun wreath arrangement to take home.

I chose to do a living wreath project because it is part houseplant and part decor. I always knew that whatever my workshop would be, I would incorporate an element of design and purpose to the project. Terra Cotta Plant Boutique is all about elegance, beauty, and intention. An air plant wreath is an eye-catching display. It is unique, pretty, and can be dressed up or down to match your own personal decorating style.

If you are local to the Toledo, OH or surrounding areas, I invite you to check the events calendar (here) for workshop classes. New dates are being organized as you read this, so the best way to stay informed is to subscribe to the Substack newsletter (here), and follow Terra Cotta Plant Boutique on Facebook or Instagram

My classes are designed to engage, inspire, and entertain. Sign up, come out, and have some fun with Terra Cotta Plant Boutique this year! I can't wait to see you.

Stay botanically inspired ❄️
