A More Personal Way to Follow the Story: TCPB on Substack
I can’t believe it is already time to send out the April newsletter. This month is a special birthday edition because yours truly will be turning the big 4-0 on Earth Day. It feels wonderful to celebrate a milestone birthday, a milestone year in business, and the expansion into new services all at once.

As many of you know, I moved over to Substack back in October, and I am incredibly grateful for the community of subscribers that has grown there since then. I am continuously learning how to make the newsletter a space where I can connect more intentionally and show appreciation to the people who truly support Terra Cotta Plant Boutique in a way that goes beyond news and updates.
Over time, I found myself sharing less on social media, especially when it came to offers, giveaways, and special announcements. As the business evolves, I wanted to create something that feels more thoughtful and more personal for the people who genuinely enjoy the content on YouTube or like shopping the boutique. Social media started to feel less like a place for connection, and I knew I needed to change my relationship with it.

I now view Instagram and Facebook as places where people can casually keep up with the boutique or come across it in their feed. That kind of visibility still has its place, but it is a different level of engagement. The people who take the time to subscribe and choose to receive something directly once a month are the ones I want to invest in more deeply.
This shift toward slower, more intentional content has changed my entire approach over the last few months. I stepped away from TikTok. I spend less time on Instagram and Facebook. I focus more on YouTube and the blog. And I put more care into the newsletter.

At the core of it, I am a content creator. I have been for years. But I reached a point where I wanted to create something that wasn’t just about me. This business gave me that outlet. Sharing the process of building Terra Cotta Plant Boutique, the challenges, the growth, the moments that shape it, and inviting people into that experience is what this project has really become.
The newsletter is where all of that comes together. It is the one place where I can speak directly to the people who want to follow along more closely and be part of the story as it unfolds. It is more personal, more intentional, and more connected than anything I share elsewhere.

If you enjoy the content, I hope you consider signing up for the Substack newsletter and being part of that space.
Stay botanically inspired,
Brooklyn
