Holiday Marketing: Why I Won't Be Participating in Black Friday or Cyber Monday
Back in August I made a YouTube video talking about my decision not to participate in holiday marketing.
The video is literally titled “Am I crazy for NOT doing holiday marketing?…”
I feel it’s time to revisit this because the holidays are here, and I’m navigating that decision in real time.
It’s true that I am not joining in on Black Friday/ Cyber Monday marketing or blowout deals (my prices are as fair as I can make them while staying in business).
What I am offering, and hope to improve upon in the future is seasonal inventory drops and gift guides for any and all occasions.
I am a nature boutique, so I feel that working on a seasonal schedule is more aligned for me than focusing on specific holidays.
Yes, Christmas time is here. But there are also birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions where gift giving feels inspired.
I hope to offer unique, beautiful, thoughtful pieces for whatever your needs may be without any pressure.
Seasonal inventory schedule:
Winter: Nov-Jan
Spring: Feb-Apr
Summer: May-July
Fall: Aug-Oct
I may sprinkle in special holiday items, like the mini Halloween planters I previously made, but generally what you can expect from Terra Cotta Plant Boutique is more like winter bulb kits in the winter months, floral teas in the spring, wildflower soaps in the summer, and pumpkin hoop earrings in the fall.
Seasonal pieces from small businesses that satisfy houseplant parents, nature lovers, and any other botanical tastes.
